Terms of service
Last updated
This is a template covering the service as built. It is not legal advice — have counsel review it before relying on it commercially.
1. The service
ZoneInsight (“the Service”) performs active, publicly observable measurements against domain infrastructure you nominate, records what it observes, and presents changes and correlated incidents. The Service is informational. It does not modify your DNS, certificates or routing, and it is not a substitute for your own operational controls.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for credentials issued to you (including API keys and webhook signing secrets), and for activity under your organization. Enable two-factor authentication where the account has access to sensitive material. Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised access.
3. Acceptable use
You may only add domains you own, operate, or are authorised to monitor. Use of the Service is subject to the Acceptable use policy, which forms part of these terms.
4. Plans, billing and limits
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor. Plan limits — domain count, check cadence, region count, history retention and integrations — are enforced by the Service. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, after which the organization reverts to the Free tier.
5. Data and retention
Observation history is retained for the period stated for your plan. Removing a domain removes its incidents and change history from your organization. See the Privacy policy for what we hold and why.
6. Availability
We aim for continuous operation but do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service on non-Enterprise plans. Monitoring may be delayed or incomplete due to upstream conditions — rate limiting by authoritative servers, registry outages, network partitions. Inconclusive measurements are recorded as such rather than presented as findings.
7. Evidence
Evidence bundles are provided so third parties can verify that an observation existed unchanged at a point in time. They attest to what the Service observed. They do not constitute a legal opinion or certification about the domain, and we make no representation about their admissibility in any proceeding.
8. Warranties and liability
The Service is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from a change we did not detect or reported late. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms or the acceptable use policy, or where required by law.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to the account's registered email before taking effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
