Acceptable use policy

ZoneInsight makes real queries against real infrastructure. This is how we keep that legitimate.

Domains you may monitor

Add only domains you own, operate, or have been authorised to monitor — for example by a client under a managed-services agreement. Monitoring a domain you have no relationship with, in order to observe a third party's infrastructure, is not permitted.

The free unauthenticated scanner is an exception by design: it performs a single, one-off, passive lookup of publicly available records, is rate limited, and does not begin continuous monitoring.

What the Service will not do

  • Authentication attempts, credential testing or any access to non-public interfaces.
  • Vulnerability scanning, fuzzing, or traffic intended to degrade a target.
  • Zone transfers or bulk enumeration beyond the records a normal resolver would request.
  • Volume beyond a normal monitoring cadence against any single authoritative server.

Every check is a query a compliant resolver or browser would make in the ordinary course. If you need a cadence beyond published plan limits, talk to us rather than working around them.

Prohibited conduct

  • Reselling or redistributing the Service without a written agreement.
  • Attempting to circumvent plan limits, rate limits or tenancy boundaries.
  • Using the Service to surveil individuals, or to support unlawful activity.
  • Interfering with the availability or integrity of the Service or its probes.

Reporting and enforcement

Report abuse from your registered email address. We investigate reports of monitoring without authorisation and may suspend the organization concerned while we do. Serious or repeated breaches result in termination.
